I have a broad range of experience in music with a primary focus on teaching.

Began playing the piano at age 4
Church organist since age 16
Bachelor of Arts, music composition emphasis – The Evergreen State College
38 years teaching experience with all ages and levels
Member – Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) since 1996
Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, MTNA, since 2002
Member – Oregon Music Teachers Association (OMTA), since 2002
OMTA Syllabus Adjudicator: 2017 – present
OMTA Syllabus Bookkeeper: 2018 – present
OMTA Syllabus Adjudicator Confirmation Chair: 2019 – present
OMTA/OCF Grant Project Coordinator: 2021 – present
Co-President – Tualatin Valley District OMTA: 2023 – present
State Chair – OMTA Composition Festival: 2016 – 2017
Many students have been honored in the OMTA State Composition Festival
Many students have completed OMTA Syllabus Level 10
Taught a weekly composing group: 2017 – 2021
Extensive accompanying experience including soloists, singers, choirs, churches, weddings, special events
Accompanist at ballet studio for 21 years
Taught Music Quest enrichment classes for children ages 3-6
I continue my education by regular attendance at conferences and workshops on music pedagogy and performance
In addition to teaching and accompanying, I am the author of two books
